CLAT 2018 Application Form, Eligibility, Syllabus & Imp Dates – Common Law Admission Test, also popularly known as CLAT is law entrance examination conducted every year by 18 National Law University (NLU) rotationally. CLAT is all India level law common entrance examination for the students seeking admission in integrated LLB and LLM programme. The CLAT examination is conducted each and every year on Second Sunday in the month of May. The Scores obtained in the CLAT examination are considered by various private law colleges and government undertaking colleges across the country.

CLAT Examination Dates has been announced which will be conducted on 13th May 2018. The Application Form will be released from 1st January 2018.

CLAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the CLAT 2018 examination must fulfill the Eligibility Criteria which will define the minimum qualification requirement, percentage of marks, and age criteria. Below we have mentioned the Eligibility Criteria for the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Law Courses.


For Undergraduate (UG) Courses

Educational Qualification

The candidate will be considered eligible for CLAT 2018 examination if he/ she has passed the 2018 examination with minimum 45 % marks (40% for SC/ST candidates)

Candidates appearing the 12th examination in March/ April will also be eligible to appear for CLAT 2018 examination.


Age Limit

To appear for the CLAT examination there is no upper age limit for the candidates


For Postgraduate (PG) Courses


Educational Qualification


Candidates applying for the LLM course is LLB / Five years integrated LLB Hons / any other equivalent examination

The Minimum marks/ percentage in qualifying examination should be 55% for General/OBC/ specially Abled Persons (SAP). For SC/ST candidates the minimum marks would be 50% percent. Final Semester/ Final Year examination appearing candidates may also apply.

Age Limit

To appear for the CLAT examination there is no upper age limit for the candidates

CLAT 2018 Application Form

Candidates must note that the CLAT 2018 Application Form must be filled only through Online Mode. Below are the simple steps on How to Fill the CLAT 2018 Application Form

  1. Candidates have to first register themselves by creating a LOGIN account using an email id
  2. At the time of filling up the Application Form , students are also required to fill the preference order for NLUs
  3. The Candidates have to upload the scanned copies of Signature and Photograph (30mm x 45mm) with size not more than 100 kb.
  4. Candidates must note that no hard copy of Application Form is to be sent to the CLAT Office.
