JEE Main 2018: CBSE to conduct Offline Examination on April 8 2018 | Notification @ cbse.nic.in – Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE has announced the JEE Main 2018 Examination dates. As per the announcement, JEE Main 2018 Offline Examination would be conducted on April 8, 2018 next year. However CBSE has not announced the dates for the online examination. Each and every year CBSE conducts the JEE or Joint Entrance Examination Main paper for admissions to various engineering courses. JEE Mains 2018 examination is also the qualifier examination for admission to JEE Advanced 2018.
According to the latest news, the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2018 will be held in pen-paper based (offline) mode on 8th April 2018. Every year, CBSE conducts the main exam while the JEE Advanced, this year, will be organised by IIT Kanpur. The exam is held for admission in the various undergraduate courses in IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs.
JEE Mains 2018 Important Details
- For the candidates to qualify for the admission in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST students the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.
- The Joint Admission Board (JAB) has recently taken a decision to increase the number of eligible candidates from 2.20 lakh to 2.24 lakh for JEE Advanced 2018. Moreover, the exam will be held on May 20.
- Candidates must note that the JEE Main 2018 official notification is expected to release by the third week of November. All those aspirants who are waiting to apply for the JEE Main 2018 Application Forms have to remember that since last year, CBSE has made Aadhaar Number mandatory for JEE Main and NEET and other examinations. Therefore, it is advisable to apply for the Aadhaar card, if not done yet.
The JEE Mains 2018 Examination official notification is yet to be released on the official website by CBSE. Students who are likely to appear for the exam next year can start their preparations for the exam on the basis of last year’s syllabus.
Age limit: The student must be born on or after October 1, 1993 (or be 25 years old) to meet the eligibility criteria. In case of SC/ST/PwD candidates, the age criteria have been relaxed by 5 years.
According to latest reports, the official website of Joint Engineering Examination (JEE) Advanced 2018 jeeadv.ac.in has been launched and is functional. The Indian Institute of Technology – Kanpur (IIT-K) is all set to conduct the examination next year on May 20. According to the information mentioned on the website, ‘The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2018 will be conducted by the seven zonal IITs. The performance of a candidate in this examination will form the basis for admission to the Bachelor’s, Integrated Master’s and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level) in all the IITs. The decisions of the JAB 2018 will be final in all matters related to JEE (Advanced) 2018 and admission to IITs.’
